The Latin Recording Academy announced October 13 that its Circle of Producers and Engineers will combine CPI In The Mix with Sebastián Krys’ Los Producers during Latin GRAMMY Week. The November 11 Las Vegas event will be a night for producers, engineers and other behind-the-scenes music professionals, with proceeds benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The Academy says Krys, diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019, will also be honored for a career spanning work with artists including Juanes, Ricky Martin, Shakira and Carlos Vives. The point is wider than networking: the event makes production labor visible at a moment when public music coverage often stops at the face on the cover.
