José Alvarado’s next chapter is underway in New York. The Knicks opened October 20 with a 106–100 loss to Philadelphia. Alvarado contributed eight points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 16½ minutes. The Brooklyn-born guard was part of New York’s championship team last June, appearing in 18 playoff games as a reserve. His national-team record includes helping Puerto Rico reach its first men’s Olympic basketball tournament in 20 years in 2024. The new season offers another chance to follow a player whose path connects New York, Puerto Rico and the NBA’s biggest stage.
