Sounds incredibly unpromising for us. Come on, man. Some of us don’t have that conservative mentality. Leggo of the dollars. Invest. The only difficulty I see is finding these entrepreneurial mavericks but they’re out there. I know of some who don’t have those frustrating and assbackwards mental shackles. We’re not in the 1950s anymore despite of the comb over coming back.
I do have a nasty feeling that this work hard (but not necessarily work smart) stereotype is one of the things holding us back. We want to be part of mainstream so much but can we even compete with it when it dares to invest in those willing to take risks? No. It’s somewhat baffling because we happen to be more extended than anything but the lack of investors (because there are some who do have the means) is really rugged individualism. Though there is nothing wrong with it except when it doesn’t benefit the collective. At least some of us. Which, in turn, will benefit the individual. I reckon most people don’t think that far of.
You know what other more “successful” ethnicities do? They give their nieces and nephews that 50, 100, 500k to go ahead and start up that startup however ridiculous the idea may be. Ridiculous sometimes becomes wildly successful because safe is already in place. No longer expandable. No more room for growth.
We need to look within. It’s not just outside forces that are holding us down. At this point, it seems more to me that the issue is us.
