Dreams and aspirations. Where would we all be without them. Making our own dreams come true, whether personal or professional, is really what life is all about. And sometimes you hook up with some friends and reach for your dreams together.

If there is anyone who knows what pushing dreams is all about, it’s Adel L. Morales. Bronx born and bred, Adel gave up teaching high school English to pursue his own dreams. The decision to go from teacher to student was not an easy one but he is now happily enrolled at NYC’s Tisch School of the Arts. The writer/director of the new series “Pushing Dreams”, Morales hooked up with Julio Antonio Toro and Frankie Villanueva to form HollyHood Productions to make their own dreams come true.

“Pushing Dreams” is the story of three friends, played by Caridad De La Luz, Flaco Navaja, and Victor Cruz, whose life struggles haven’t kept them from pursuing their dreams. No matter how many times life kicks them down they get right back up. In the first episode we see De La Luz’ character get kicked when her rap lyrics changed without her knowledge on live radio. Navaja learns that his scenes in an Indie film wound up on the cutting room floor while he’s in a screening room surrounded by family and friends. Cruz is struggling with a bully for a boss, a marriage that appears to be on its last legs, and contemplates suicide.

The series received partial funding from The National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts and has caught the interest of some television networks as well a new digital online network.

“Even out of the nitty gritty, dreams are born.”
